In each room in Staatsburgh, there are layers of stories.  On tour, visitors hear how the rooms were used in the Gilded Age, as Ruth Livingston Mills hosted house parties for society’s elite.
Behind the scenes, there are other tales to tell: how the room was restored to Gilded Age splendor, unique pieces that you don’t notice when touring, difficult choices a historic site has to make, hopes and plans for the future.
