Lunchtime Learning at the Beatrix Farrand: Garden History & Tour With Horticulturist Karen Waltuch - REGISTRATION REQUIREDLunchtime Learning at the Beatrix Farrand: Garden History & Tour With Horticulturist Karen Waltuch - REGISTRATION REQUIRED – Lunchtime Learning at the Beatrix Farrand Garden This popular Lunchtime Learning series in collaboration with Starr Library and the Beatrix Farrand Garden is back for a second season! Led by NPS rangers, horticulturists, librarians, and artists, each event will take place at the Beatrix Farrand Garden, located on the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt Historic Site in Hyde Park. This program will begin with a tour of the Beatrix Farrand Garden, located on the Roosevelt-Vanderbilt Historic Site in Hyde Park. Beatrix Farrand was the first professional woman landscape gardener in America. During the tour, we’ll discuss her work, the plantings, and the history of Bellefield–her oldest surviving residential work, completed in 1912–and then save time for a picnic lunch in the garden! This program is a collaboration between the Staatsburg Library, Starr Library, and the Beatrix Farrand Garden Located at the Home of FDR National Historic Site Tuesday, May 23 Guided Nature Hikes on the Hyde Park Trails System - Registration RequestedGuided Nature Hikes on the Hyde Park Trails System - Registration Requested – Guided Nature Hikes on the Hyde Park Trails System Pollinator Patrol Club hikes of the Hyde Park Healthy Trails Walkabout The hikes are guided but adults are responsible for their individual group and are required to follow these basic rules. Follow #pollinatorpatrolclub or Facebook info for the libraries - an overview of each hike every week will be posted so you can look for the things we saw. Hike each trail when you can and keep track on your form. Share what you see and learn with us! Backpacks are also available for you to take out and use from Staatsburg library. There is information and tools available in each to learn about pollinators, birdwatching, geology, and more. They will enhance your hiking experience!
